Product Development Associate
Pay Rate: $30.00/ HR

As a Product Development Associate – International Products, you will support the Research and Development team by assisting as the interface between R&D and international business partners, supporting the communication of new projects, potential opportunities, product changes, and potential roadblocks/risks. You will need to maintain open communication with the R&D product development scientist(s) in order to identify and inform on formula/packaging/claims opportunities and requirements that will allow for potential international expansion and globalization of specific products in our Better Health Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements business. This will require an understanding of and familiarity with international regulations and the preparation of product documentation to support product registrations.

Essential Functions:
--Serve as liaison between R&D and international business partners
--Work w/ internal Regulatory Affairs team and provide support during product registration/submission process
--Research and evaluate clinical evidence to provide claims substantiation for product registrations in various markets
--Advise on ingredient suitability for product expansion into international markets (based on regulations)
--Regularly report progress towards objectives
--Provide input on appropriate product testing methods
--Communicate effectively within a multi-functional team and build strong partnerships both internally and externally.
--Supports research evaluation to understand and inform on product globalization opportunities
--Documents and maintains product files
--Product and Packaging specification creation, routing, approvals in Electronic Data Management System (Master Control)
--Review product labels and Marketing communications, providing feedback and approval
--Review Sales/Education material feedback and approval
--Review raw materials when replacements/substitutions are needed by our contract manufacturers
--Interface with contract manufacturers to provide feedback, brainstorm solutions, vet and approve changes, include change control review/approval
--Customer/Consumer inquiry responses
--Documentation prep for Registrations in individual countries Ex. Certificate of Composition

--Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline
--2 to 5 years of experience in natural products, nutrition, food technology, or health-related field
--Well organized and an analytical thinker
--Strong MS Word and Excel skills; Proficient in Outlook
--Good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
--Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
--Good time management skills and the ability to work with deadlines
--Attention to Detail
--Problem Solving: Ability to take a problem and look for alternative solutions as well as steps necessary in order to achieve desired goal(s)
--Cooperation: The job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude
--Master Control and/or SAP experience
--Vitamin, Mineral, and Supplement formulation/chemistry background
--Prior relevant professional experience
